Certified ServSafe® Instructor or Registered ServSafe Proctor. You
can also choose the Dual Role status, which includes both the Certified
Instructor and Registered Proctor designations.
The three sections below clearly define each distinct role. If you are uncertain of the role that
best suits you, select the Dual Role status, and you will be able to teach
classes and proctor Exams. But whichever role you choose, the National
Restaurant Association Solutions (NRA Solutions) is ready with the
materials and support to help you every step of the way.

Role Status?
Dual Role status includes the designations of both Certified Instructor and
Registered Proctor. With this dual designation, you will be able to teach the
ServSafe Food Safety Manager training course, and proctor the ServSafe Food
Protection Manager Certification Online or print-based Exam.
Please note: The Dual Role designation allows you to instruct classes, order
Exam booklets, and receive the Instructor benefits.
Registered Proctor
What is a
Registered ServSafe Proctor?
Registered ServSafe Proctors are approved to proctor the ServSafe Food
Protection Manager Certification Online or print-based Exam. They maintain the
confidentiality of the test contents and adhere to the standards and ethics of
secure Exam administration. Please note: Proctors can order Exam booklets,
but they cannot instruct classes, and they do not receive the Instructor
benefits.
Certified Instructor
What is a
Certified ServSafe Instructor?
Certified ServSafe Instructors teach ServSafe Food Safety Manager training
courses. They ensure that these important lessons are taught in a clear and
consistent manner. Instructors have Web access to benefits, special tools,
information and resources. Please note: Instructors cannot order Exam
booklets. Proctor and Dual Role designations can order Exam booklets. Dual Role
designations also receive the Instructor benefits.
