About the new ServSafe DVDs and Videos
When will the updated ServSafe DVDs be available?
The ServSafe DVDs have been updated with the 2007 Supplement to the 2005 FDA Food Code, and will reflect minor changes. The updated DVDs launched March 16, 2009. These new DVDs will work with all the ServSafe Fifth Edition materials, including the Video-based Leaders Guide (8- or 16-hour) found on Instructor Deluxe CD-ROM (IG5). The VHS format will not be updated, and will be available as long as supplies last.

Are the VHS videos being updated in 2009?
What were the changes to the DVDs in 2009?
DVDs have been updated with the 2007 Supplement to the 2005 FDA Food Code, and will reflect minor changes. The updated DVDs launched March 16, 2009. For a list of the changes, click here.

If I ordered the DVD set in 2008 or early 2009, are my videos outdated?
If you have already purchased the DVDs/VHSs for the Fifth Edition, they will continue to work with the Fifth Edition ServSafe program materials.

Why are the ServSafe training videos changing?
ServSafe is committed to developing materials that are up-to-date and follow the latest FDA Food Code. The Food Code is updated every two years, and it's our mission to have the most relevant, current materials available. The videos have been developed to decrease instructor lecture time, and incorporate a blended learning approach.
